Are Wax Melts Safe?
Share
For many years people have used candles and wax melts containing substances like paraffin which are neither healthy for us nor our planet. Not only that, but paraffin can have negative effects on your pet's health. Paraffin wax is generally cheaper than soy wax and is mainly found in cheap mass-produced wax products. It is derived from petroleum, coal, or shale oil, and contains benzene. All of which can cause respiratory difficulties in both humans and pets.
A great alternative, then, is soy wax, which is what we use in our candles and wax melts. This is a natural wax that is much more environmentally friendly, and healthier for our well-being. It also means our wax melts are vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, and biodegradable (yes, even the glitter - check out our blog on that here). Natural wax also offers a cleaner burn compared to products like paraffin, maintaining a consistent burn rate and temperature, resulting in a greatly extended usage time. Our wax melts can last up to 90 hours, whereas paraffin wax melts of the same weight only last between 12-18 hours.
Choosing natural wax does not necessitate a higher cost. In fact, most manufacturers like ourselves absorb the expenses of superior waxes to ensure the production of higher quality products and customer satisfaction.
The next time you pick up a wax melt or a candle, make the choice of natural wax, and you’ll experience a noticeable difference, both in quality, and knowing that you’re choosing a natural, environmentally-friendly product.
